Beach Water Quality Monitoring, Notification, and Research

The Beach Water Monitoring program is a cooperative effort of the Coastal Resources Division and the Coastal Health District. The water at Georgia's coastal swimming beaches is tested regularly for the presence of potentially harmful bacteria.

National Coastal Assessment

Formerly known as the national Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Program (EMAP), the National Coastal Assessment Program (NCAP) was created to provide basic answers to environmental problems affecting the nation's environmental resources.
